Handy Backup Free

Alongside the many paid Handy Backup editions, developer Novosoft has a free version to offer, the aptly named Handy Backup Free, which can be used to back up data to the web: a FTP server, Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, or Yandex Disk. Just to make things perfectly clear, Handy Backup Free doesn’t provide support for local backups, it can only back up files to the web.

To get started with Handy Backup Free you will have to perform two tasks. Number one, you will have to download and install it application on your Windows PC. And number two, you will have to register your copy. To do that you must visit this webpage and complete a registration form; once you've done that, you’ll get your registration key via email.

By default, Handy Backup Free will bring up a New Task Wizard the first time you launch the application. As you can see from the Quick Look video that accompanies this article, the wizard will guide you through all the steps you need to take to set up a new backup task. You’ll get to choose what will be backed up, where it will be backed up, and how the back up process will run. It must be mentioned here that the New Task Wizard can also be used to create a restore task or a sync task.

Novosoft has multiple Handy Backup editions to offer. Alongside the free edition there are several other paid editions: Standard, Professional, Network, Small Server, and Server Network. Pricing for these editions starts at $39 for Handy Backup Standard and goes up to $569 for Handy Backup Server Network. As mentioned above, out of all the Handy Backup editions, Handy Backup Free has the least amount of features to offer. There’s one more thing I want to draw your attention to. At the time of writing this, the paid edition was last updated on July 13, less than 2 weeks ago. The free edition on the other hand was last updated in November 2016, some 8 months ago.

Handy Backup is a very useful backup tool that will help you protect your important data against data loss accidents. Handy Backup Free though is the free version that comes with many limitations, chief among them being the fact that it can’t back up files locally, it can only back them up to the cloud.
